The National Association of Minority Automobile Dealers defines an ethnic minority deal as the awarding of a franchise agreement to an ethnic minority, as recognized by them, which allows the ethnic minority dealer to sell that manufacturer's new car products to the general public.  The dealership must be more than fifty percent owned by an ethnic minority, or must provide a contractual right to buy up to a majority interest within a reasonable amount of time.
The ethnic minority interest must be owned by a United States citizen or naturalized resident.  In order to be included in a manufacturer's count of current ethnic minority deals, the dealer must have a dealer code and be open to conduct business with the general public and the dealership must be located within the 50 states of the United States.
National Association of Minority Automobile Dealers is committed to increasing opportunities for ethnic minorities in all aspects of the automotive industry.
