The National Association of Minority Automobile Dealers is a more than 650 members, non profit, and tax exempt organization headquartered in the Washington, D.C. area.  Founded in 1980.  The automotive industry generates revenue. The Company seeks to ensure the presence of a meaningful, representative number of minority entrepreneurs and employees in the retail sales, supplier and service sectors, and the manufacturing ranks.

The National Association of Minority Automobile Dealers defines an ethnic minority deal as the awarding of a franchise agreement to an ethnic minority, as recognized by them, which allows the ethnic minority dealer to sell that manufacturer's new car products to the general public.  The dealership must be more than fifty percent owned by an ethnic minority, or must provide a contractual right to buy up to a majority interest within a reasonable amount of time.
 
The ethnic minority interest must be owned by a United States citizen or naturalized resident.  In order to be included in a manufacturer's count of current ethnic minority deals, the dealer must have a dealer code and be open to conduct business with the general public and the dealership must be located within the 50 states of the United States.
 
National Association of Minority Automobile Dealers is committed to increasing opportunities for ethnic minorities in all aspects of the automotive industry. Their mission is to strengthen the relationship between the motorist and the automotive service and repair industry through education or the motorist and service provider, and through the creation of industry standards.
