Allstate’s Robin Richmond Named One of the 100 Most Important Blacks in Technology

NORTHBROOK, Ill., February 6, 2006 – The editors of US Black Engineer & Information Technology magazine named Dr. Robin Richmond, assistant vice president, Allstate protection technology, to the 100 Most Important Blacks in Technology list for 2006. The honorees are upheld by the magazine as role models and their accomplishments validate the important contributions Blacks make in the high-tech and business world on a daily basis.

Richmond is featured in the magazine and will be honored at the 20th Annual Black Engineer of the Year Awards conference held on February 17 in Baltimore, Md.

As assistant vice president of process solutions and information support for protection technology, Richmond is responsible for creating strategies related to application development process improvements with the goal of raising Allstate’s application development capabilities to the best-in-industry levels.

A 27-year Allstate veteran, Richmond began her technology career as a programmer/analyst and has held numerous positions of increasing responsibility within Allstate before being named an officer of the company in 1997.

Richmond received her Doctorate of Science in Engineering and Technology from Southern California University in 2002, graduating summa cum laude. She received her Master of Science in Management and Business from National Louis University in 1990 and her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Lincoln University in 1976.

Richmond is a member of the Black Data Processing Association and the Society of Information Management and Information Technology Senior Management Forum. She is also a member and past president of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Evanston IL /Northshore Alumnae chapter. Active in her community, she is also a facilitator of a youth computer club and raises scholarship funds for youth seeking to pursue higher education goals.
