The Automotive Industry Action Group is a globally recognized organization founded in 1982 by a group of visionary managers from DaimlerChrysler, Ford Motor Company, and General Motors. The purposes to provide an open forum where members cooperate in developing and promoting solutions that improve the prosperity of the automotive industry. AIAG's focus is to continuously improve business processes and practices involving trading partners throughout the supply chain.
 
Under the auspices of AIAG, volunteers from approximately 1,500 member companies have worked together to resolve issues critical to the automotive supply chain.
 
AIAG members play a unique role in the development of new technologies and the standards that govern their usage. By providing the perfect forum for initiating proactive planning and improving trading partner relationships, AIAG membership offers A Neutral Environment. AIAG members discuss issues important to the success of the automotive supply chain, in a non-competitive atmosphere. A Voice. AIAG members have the opportunity to initiate the work that eliminates redundant systems and processes.
 
AIAG member companies are given the opportunity to vote on new or revised standards that will impact the way they do business. AIAG members not only hear about new customer requirements first; they help to shape them. AIAG volunteer committees produce working solutions to critical cost problems. 
 
AIAG AutoTech has been called the most relevant conference in the automotive industry. For 18 years AIAG has hosted the AutoTech Conference and Exposition, the event for suppliers at all tiers to receive quality updates first-hand, straight from those who developed the guidelines and standards. It's a venue where the collaboration between OEMs and suppliers is showcased through executive conferences, town halls, educational sessions, product and service exhibits and demonstrations, and networking opportunities.
 
As an AIAG member, you and your company can influence and help streamline the automotive industry's commercial processes. AIAG's proactive, solutions-oriented philosophy has attracted approximately 1,500 member companies including OEMs, suppliers, and those involved in the automotive supply chain. As the global marketplace demands more cooperation and partnering, AIAG's position in the industry continues to grow.
 
AIAG helps them to understand where technology is moving, even in something as simple as labeling. Because they were involved in AIAG, Freedom saw all the new Ford labeling requirements long before they were implemented publicly.
